In Evanescence, dance becomes a prayer in motion, carried by Tosca’s heartrending words: “Vissi d’arte, vissi d’amore, non feci mai male ad anima viva…” To the spellbinding music of Giacomo Puccini, the suspended body of Étoile dancer Dorothée Gilbert, under the choreographic direction of Sébastien Bertaud, echoes a burning passion. Evanescence is an ode to the beauty and poetry of movement—a suspended moment in time.
